Gross Anatomy

It has two lobes. Each lobe is divided into many lobules by septae.

These lobules have an outer cortex occupied by immature T lymphocytes, and an inner medulla occupied by mature T lymphocytes.

The entire organ is surrounded by a collagenous capsule.

The organ is separated into lobules.
